I thoroughly enjoyed the CHARACTERISATION THROUGH NARRATION workshop. We all know the truism that compelling, believable characters are the engine of any good novel. However, despite having read a plethora of craft books on character development, I soon discovered that, like Jon Snow, I knew ‘nothing’. Thanks to Michelle’s continual challenge to ‘dig deeper’ (I’m waiting for her engraved bracelet to hit the market), I discovered depths to my main characters I never dreamed existed. I delved into the mystic realms of GMC and sensory pathways and learned to ensure that these are always reflected in my dialogue and exposition. It was quite a ride, but fear not! Michelle is always there to guide, encourage and most of all, challenge you to keep exploring your own story world. I can’t recommend her course highly enough.

With particular focus on romance, I will assist the participants to build a stellar synopsis.
Participants will learn how to analyse their story and extract the key elements to include in their synopsis, whilst learning how to determine what plot points and events to leave out.
Over the four week period we will formulate the building blocks of the synopsis – the orienting paragraphs, the major turning points, the resolution and the conclusion paragraphs – and then learn how to structure them before piecing them together in a way that is engaging and exciting for the reader.

Michelle’s SIMPLY SYNOPSIS course makes breaking down the daunting task of creating a synopsis into manageable steps. Michelle has the ability to understand the story you are trying to tell and helps you to extract the best version of that as your synopsis develops before your eyes. Highly recommend!
